Lincoln East Rotary Club presented a $5,000 check to Liz Shea-McCoy, chair of the Pershing Mural Historic Preservation Effort. “I’m glad that our club supports projects like this,” said Rotary member Duane Tappe, who invited Shea-McCoy to a recent meeting. “The Pershing mural within Wyuka Park will have historical and educational value for Nebraskans – statewide.”

Our club has partnered with Lincoln Parks and Recreation to plant Trees in our efforts to engage our community in mitigating the effects of climate change. 
 
I am writing to invite your club members to join us in this event at Trendwood Park this Saturday starting at 10 am, volunteers are required to come with closed-toed shoes and gloves if they own a pair, if not there will be extra ones available. This is a family event and members are encouraged to come with their children.

June 30th was an opportunity for Lincoln East Rotary Club to welcome seven new members and install their officers for 2023-2024.
 
There were several spouses, friends and our 2023-24 District Governor, Kathryn Schubert from Omaha Suburban, along with Assistant Governor, Clay Ehlers to help welcome these new members and install our President, Andrew Mwape.  Andrew is a Ph.D. student in Applied Climatology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and his home is in Zambia.
The Fairbury Rotary Club (Club 1520) celebrated its 103rd anniversary on Feb. 26, 2023, with a celebration at the Bonham Theatre in Fairbury.Joining in the celebration were current and past District Governors for District 5650, representatives of other Rotary clubs in the district, family members of deceased Rotarians, representatives of organizations for which Fairbury Rotary provides support, and members of the Fairbury Rotary Club. Some in attendance were dressed for the 1920s.
