Rotary District 5650 is now taking nominations for District Governor 2018-19.
Nominations require the support of the Rotary Club by Board Resolution. Additional information is below. Questions and nominations forms are to be directed to DG 2014-15 Brian Moon (bcmoon@me.com).
From the Rotary District 5660 Nominating Committee Chair, Brian Moon in a letter to Club Leadership:
I am asking you as a Rotary leader to consider who to nominate for our District Governor for the 2018-19 Rotary year. This position is critical to the ongoing success of our District and to RI. The individual serving in this capacity certainly will have some demands, but they will also receive incredible training, travel to some great destinations and make life-long friends from across the country and the world.
To qualify for this role an individual must have completed a term as a club president in our District. Additionally, some sort of involvement at the District level is helpful but not necessary. We have done some research, and feel that there are easily 25-30 strong candidates within our District. We now need you to nominate them.
In order to be a valid nominee, a club needs generate a board resolution placing the person's name in contention. The attached nomination form then needs to be completed and signed by the club secretary and president. I would ask that all forms be forwarded to me via email so that I can present them to the Nominating Committee.
The deadline for submitting nominations will be November 30, with the Committee conducting interviews in early December. Please fell free to contact me with any questions about the process or to just discuss your potential nominee.
I ask that you seriously consider who in your club would be a good nominee, approach them about this, and encourage them to "throw their hat in the ring". Thanks in advance for your assistance in this process that is so critical to our long-term success.
