What do table tennis, melon ice cream, a game of chess and a shelter for vulnerable girls have in common? They’re all projects of Rotary clubs around the world. That’s what you get when you look outside the walls of your club meetings.

A club in India uses table tennis (ping pong if you will) to reach out to underserved children in their area.

Rotarians up in Michigan have a blast selling melon-flavored ice cream. Yep, you read that right and all that ice cream brings in $30,000 for scholarships and youth programs.

Hop on your imaginary plane over to the Czech Republic and you’ll encounter Rotarians playing chess with young folks in their communities, as a way of getting those youngsters away from their screens.

And, clubs in Switzerland helped build a shelter for vulnerable girls in Peru using a Rotary Foundation International Grant.

This month, I encourage you to share stories on your club’s social media. Post stories of what Rotarians around the world are doing and encourage members to share them on their personal accounts as well. A group of stories has been sent to the Public Image contact at each club in our District. Let me know if you have any questions.
