Our district has undertaken the noble goal of planting a tree for every Rotarian member.  This means we will be planting approximately 2000 trees before the end of the year.
Rotary International President Ian Riseley is urging members to plant trees prior to or on Earth Day 2018 which April 22nd
I am encouraging our district clubs to plat trees on Saturday April 7th which happens to be the Saturday of RYLA at Camp Kitaki.  That day young people in our district will be planting trees at Camp Kitaki and learning about tree husbandry.
As you probably know the International Tree Planting Holiday: “Arbor Day” began in Nebraska in 1872 by Nebraskan J. Sterling Morton.  I have contacted the Environmental Sustainability Rotarian Action Group (ESRAG) to make sure they are aware of the existence of Arbor Day.
Please share your clubs plans with me and on our district website or Facebook page.  Thank you for your commitment to Rotary.
