Rotary's People of Action Campaign
 
Rotary International has created a new global ad campaign called "People of Action." The campaign is based on research that revealed that while many people have heard of Rotary, few actually understand what Rotary clubs do. A look back at District Conference 2017
The 2017 District Conference was held August 11th at the Omaha Community Playhouse and August 12th at the Creighton University Harper Center.  Total Conference attendance was 331, including 269 Rotarians and 72 public.  

The Conference had two special objectives: To accomplish community service/outreach and to put substantial benefits back into our clubs and Rotarians.

Rotary District Conference Awards Presentation
Every club in Rotary District 5650 has made a difference in the world. We celebrated those accomplishments and presented some awards August 12, 2017. Clubs were recognized for projects, profile points (Top 10 Clubs) and giving to The Rotary Foundation. Individuals were also recognized for improving lives through Rotary.

Rotary unveiled a new logo a few years ago along with guidelines for applying the Rotary Brand (click here for an overview). Applying a consistent Rotary look and voice in all of our communications is vital to strengthening our image and enhancing our reputation.

Countdown to History
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation have pledged more matching funds to Rotary International for polio eradication. District 5650 Polio Plus Chair Gretchen Bren wants us to be aware of the Countdown to History campaign as we work on the final phases of polio eradication - to zero cases. There will be more coming but you may wish to read about it now at www.endpolio.org.
Dues Payments to the District and Rotary International
Dues Billings - District and Rotary International - are payable upon receipt.
 
Thank you to the Clubs in District 5650 for paying the semi-annual billings promptly. There are 39 clubs that have already paid the current semi-annual invoices to Rotary International.
