n Dear Rotarians:
\n
\n The Z
one 29 \;nominating committee will meet between 15 September an
d 15 October to nominate the next RI director from your zone who will serv
e on the RI Board in 2026-28.
\n
\n If your club wish
es to submit a qualified Rotarian for consideration by the Nominating Comm
ittee for Director in your zone\, the club must follow these guidelines:\n \; \n\n \n - The club must submit
the Official Suggestion Form no later than 1 September 2
024. Upon submission\, the Official Suggestion Form will be sent to the no
minating committee convener.
\n - The form must also be accompanied b
y a written statement from a physician certifying that the suggested candi
date is in good health and physically able to carry out the duties of an R
I director. \;
\n - The form must be signed by the candidate\, in
dicating that he or she agrees to abide by RI'\;s provisions against ca
mpaigning for elective position\, and that he or she accepts the "\;RI
Board of Directors Job Description."\;
\n \n\n
\n RI Bylaws section 13.010. states\, in part\, as
follows:
\n
\n &ldquo\;Rotarians shall
not campaign\, canvass\, or electioneer for elective position in RI\, or a
llow any such activity\, for either themselves or others.&rdquo\;\n
\n The RI Board also calls your attention to
Rotary Code of Policies section 26.060.4. &ldquo\;Rules Regarding Campaign
ing\, Canvassing\, and Electioneering\,&rdquo\; which provides more detail
s on these restrictions.
