Every day, children in Ukraine become orphans. Every day children are sent away from the war zone by their parents. Every day Rotary members in Poland and Ukraine do what they can to help those children.

On December 17, a convoy of 21 vans loaded with generators, sleeping bags, coats, mittens, warm clothing and even some food will move from Poland into Ukraine headed to 21 orphanages near the city of Lviv in western Ukraine. One van for each of 21 orphanages filled with children who have lost one or more parents or have been sent there for safety.

Piotr Jankowski, Rotary District Governor for Poland, explains what will take place: https://youtu.be/itW1DPk3yy4

Rotary members in District 5650 (Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa) have the opportunity to donate to a special fund established by District Governor Barbara Bartle to help fill those vans with supplies.

Here are some photos from a similar project – warm clothes for children delivered to the orphanage in Ivano-Frankivsk, and warm clothes for adults were delivered to the south of Ukraine to the frontline areas.
