It is with great pleasure that we announce that, on June 27, the District Nominating Committee interviewed and selected Emily Martin of the Rotary Club of Red Oak as the District Governor Nominee Designate (DGND) for Rotary District 5650. Effective July 1, Emily will become the District Governor Nominee (DGN) and will serve as District Governor during the 2028–2029 Rotary year.

Emily has been a member of the Rotary Club of Red Oak since 2019 and has demonstrated outstanding leadership and dedication to Rotary. She served as Club President in 2023–2024 and became Area Governor for Area 7 in 2025. Emily is also a member of the Rotary Fellowship of Military Veterans and a graduate of the Rotary Leadership Institute.

Among her many accomplishments, Emily helped lead her club's sponsorship of the Magic Memories Dance, a prom for adults with special needs. During the 2023–2024 Rotary year, she facilitated a partnership among the Rotary Clubs of Red Oak, Glenwood, and Shenandoah to co-sponsor the event. By its third year, the project had grown significantly and was adopted by St. Mary's Catholic Church in partnership with the Tim Tebow Foundation, becoming part of the global Night to Shine program.

Emily is a dedicated Rotarian and community leader whose service reflects a strong commitment to club growth, membership engagement, support of The Rotary Foundation, and high-impact community partnerships. Her passion for service and leadership will be a tremendous asset to our district.

Please join us in congratulating and welcoming Emily Martin to the District 5650 leadership team. We look forward to her continued service and the positive impact she will have on our district and communities.
