Local departments fighting the wildfires (if making a monetary donation, specify for the rural side of the department, ex: Brady Rural Fire). Listed are some that may have higher damage expenses/needs than others due to the wildfires being in their districts and they would have been fighting the longest. Any other town surrounding the fire would have also had crews at the fire for a longer duration, so can use Google Maps to see surrounding towns. There are more for the Cottonwood Fire because that is the one I was assigned to work, but the Morrill fire is much larger. There are Facebook pages for each of the fires for more information (Ex: Cottonwood Fire Nebraska, Morrill Fire Nebraska). The Facebook page Midwest Media by Melanie has a pinned post with a list of all of the departments who have worked both the Cottonwood and Morrill Fires as well.
