As clubs review dues for members, include the Rotary required items plus the Club costs supported with member assessment.
Rotary International bills semi-annually (July and January) for dues, magazine, insurance and council on legislation.

Clubs may assess the members for club costs and should clearly disclose that information. Click here for a sample analysis including Rotary required items and club optional items..

Clubs may include optional items with dues billings. Often we see:
  • Club Foundation Donation
  • The Rotary Foundation Donation (can be added as an option but cannot be part of the regular, mandatory dues payments)
  • It must be clearly stated that the Rotary Foundation Donation is optional and the member needs to have the option to renew their dues without include the amount for the Rotary Foundation Donation
From The Rotary Code of Policies:

5.020.2. Prohibition of Mandatory Contributions to The Rotary Foundation
The Rotary Foundation has developed on the basis of voluntary contributions. Contributions to the Foundation shall not be a condition of membership, and any reference implying such condition of membership shall not appear on the membership application card. Clubs are prohibited from enacting a bylaw that makes contributions to the Foundation a condition of membership. Any reference to such contributions on membership identification cards is not authorized. (November 2004 Mtg., Bd. Dec. 59)
