Finally Spring is here! I love it when our world begins to come alive again after the long winter. The flowers are starting to bloom, the grass is turning green and the trees are beginning to bud. Oh, and the golfers are returning to the links.
This year more than ever our world is beginning to come alive again. Thanks to so many of us that have received our vaccines. It has allowed us to emerge from our cocoons and start interacting again…safely. I don’t know about you but it feels good to see my Rotary friends in person. I would like to give a special thank you to all the scientists, medical teams, first responders and volunteers (especially our Rotarians) who have worked endless hours to get us through this past year.

I’m excited to see so many clubs getting geared up for Spring service projects and making final arrangements to honor young scholars with recognition and scholarships. All these activities help us realize how important Rotary is to our communities and the world.

I would like all of us to appreciate what we have as Rotarians. If you haven’t heard from a fellow member in a while, call them, check on them, get them reengaged in Rotary. Engagement in any way is so important, it takes all of us to keep our clubs strong and active. Our children, our communities and our world are depending on us. We can’t let them down.

Many clubs are planning special events so make sure you let Nicki or myself know so we can get them posted to the district calendar. One event that is in the works is our District Conference celebration. The conference committee is hard at work getting all the details worked out. I’m sure it is going to be a great reunion of Rotarians.

Save the date!!!
