Welcome to September! It’s amazing how quickly the summer passes. This past month I enjoyed more club visits and seeing all the exciting plans our clubs have for this coming year.

I find myself being energized each time I meet with another club and realize that this year is rather a blessing. It has forced us to look at new opportunities to engage our members and find new ways to serve our communities and the world.

Omaha Morning has created opportunities for new members to join their club in many ways. They have five types of memberships: regular, corporate (up to four members), family (up to two), young professionals, and virtual membership. I am eager to see how this new opportunity will strengthen their club in many directions. If you would like more information, contact their president Robert Rapp (click here to connect with Robert).

Many of the clubs this year have been scheduling golf fundraisers, which have been very successful. Golf as we all know is a sport we can get together, relax, and be together safely. Omaha West has a golf outing planned for September 16th at Pacific Springs and Millard has theirs scheduled for September 22nd. It is not too late to register.

Another exciting multiple club project is the Omaha Trails Project being headed up by Omaha Night. This project has many segments, so all they need are volunteers. Contact Gretchen Bren (click here to connect with Gretchen) to offer your club’s help.

As I continue to connect with our clubs, I feel a common thread of strength and determination to create new models for the future of our Rotary District. Keep up the great work…stay safe…find ways to be together.

Warm regards,
Roxy Orr, District Governor 5650
