Memorial Day weekend is over.  Many Rotary clubs include a special item in their club agenda to honor American veterans who gave their lives in service to our country.

Invite veterans to be a part of your meetings near Memorial Day.   But don't stop there.  There are many ways that we can involve veterans in Rotary.

If your club has not established a relationship with community veterans organizations such as the American Legion and VFW establish a plan to do so.  Rotary  members can be interesting speakers at their meetings and functions and vice versa.  Joint service projects can help connect the organizations.  With more exposure to Rotary local veterans just might want to join.

Watch for information regarding a new Veterans Fellowship we are creating in the District. This will be a group that works together to network and socialize and engage in service in support of Veterans' issues. It is open to any Rotarian or non-Rotarian interested in participating. Stay Tuned.
