Growing membership is a major Rotary focus, both in existing clubs and by starting new ones.  With this in mind, I encourage district club presidents to do the following as soon as possible:
  1. Appoint a club membership chair to coordinate reaching out to potential members.  So often members have names but don’t know what to with them.  Have your membership chair contact me so the district can support their efforts.
  2. Contact me or the club development team (see Carol's message) right away with ideas for new clubs.  There might be potential for forming new clubs in your community that will operate differently than the classic club model.  I can help get them started.  Or, you might have a lead from another community that I can pursue.
Rotary is doing so much good in Nebraska/Iowa communities, the nation, and the world.  We need to grow to be able to do more.

First, an introduction is in order.  I am Roger Lempke of Lincoln Rotary Club #14 and the new District 5650 membership chair.  You can reach me at zoomee69@gmail.com and 402-432-0501(cell).  I was born and raised in Tecumseh, Nebraska and have lived in Lincoln for the past 42 years.  I retired as Nebraska National Guard Adjutant General in 2007 and then served on Nebraska U.S. Senator state staffs until fully retiring before COVID-19 hit last year.

I am eager to help Rotary grow.
