In a few short years, Rotary will be Celebrating our 125th anniversary in 2030. Rotary Intl has set a membership goal for us of 1.25 million members and Rotaractors by our 125th birthday.
While that is a fun slogan and goal, the reason WHY is the purpose of this story – keep reading to learn more.
So many things Rotary does are important. There are children across this globe who can walk because of Rotarians. People who can feed their families and have access to clean water because of Rotarians. Right here in the metro area, students can further their education because of Rotarians and adults and children in precarious economic conditions have warm clothes to wear because of Rotarians.
So what does that have to do with membership? More Rotarians= more reach and more people served. Less Rotarians=a poorer world both literally and figuratively.
Are you passionate about Rotary? Has Rotary enriched your life and you want to share that with others? Are you willing to help address the loneliness epidemic by facilitating connection in Rotary?
If so, we want YOU to join our District 5650 Membership Committee. We are assembling an incredible team of people who are excited and passionate about Rotary to bring that gift to people across the District?
You don’t need any experience- just enthusiasm and a willingness to work with others. We want YOU from every corner of the District- small clubs and large ones to help us lead the nation in growing Rotary.
Initial meetings (conducted via Zoom) will start in the first quarter of next year to be ready to kick-off our plans on July 1, 2027.
If you are ready to serve, please contact Jennifer Jirak-Brungardt at jennifer.jirak@cruiseplanners.com or 712-524-0850 to join the committee.
