The Rotary Citation awarded by Rotary International helps ensure that clubs are strong in several core areas.  It should be very achievable for most clubs in our district.
The theme this year is Rotary Connects the World and the Rotary Citation includes activities in support of that theme.

Rotary can automatically verify many club achievements as long as you keep your club and member information up-to-date. You’ll use online tools like Rotary Club Central to report when you’ve achieved other goals.

To be eligible for the Rotary Citation, clubs need to begin the year as active clubs that are in good standing and remain so throughout the year. Achievements will be compared with membership figures from July 1 and will be recognized after the numbers are finalized - around August 15.

This year, clubs can receive the Rotary Citation With Presidential Distinction when they achieve the Rotary Citation plus one to three additional goals.

Use Rotary Club Central to select the items that you want to track - or where you have set goals.

Enter your activities in Rotary Club Central and on Rotary Showcase to qualify for items such as volunteers, sponsoring youth, using new Rotary Brand, End Polio Now events, etc.

CHANGES RELEASED APRIL 16, 2020:
To: Club Presidents, Club Secretaries, Club Membership Chairs
CC: District Governors

Dear club leader,

Earning the Rotary Citation is an honor that RI President Mark D. Maloney hopes clubs strive to achieve. To earn the citation, please complete activities and report your accomplishments to Rotary by 30 June.

What if social distancing makes it hard to achieve some goals?
We recognize that social distancing and hardships may limit some of the goals that clubs are able to achieve this year. Because of this, the requirements for achieving the 2019-20 citation will be revised. Instead of achieving 5 of the 9 goals in each category, clubs will need to achieve a minimum of three goals in each category. No changes will be made to the Presidential Distinction requirements and clubs still need to be in good standing to be eligible.

Where should I enter my club’s accomplishments?
The 2019-20 Rotary Citation Achievement Guide explains how and where to report each citation goal. If a club member who isn’t an officer wants to record citation progress in Rotary Club Central, you can learn to delegate your level of access temporarily to allow the member to do so.

How can I see my club’s progress?
Members who have My Rotary accounts can view the Rotary Citation Recipients Report by signing in to My Rotary. Then, under Manage, in Club & District Administration, go to Reports and, in the Awards section, you’ll see Rotary Citation.

What about the citation for Rotaract and Interact clubs?
The Rotary Citation for Rotaract Clubs and the Rotary Citation for Interact Clubs include goals that will help clubs keep members energized and attract new ones. The Rotaract Citation Achievement Guide and Interact Citation Achievement Guide explain where these achievements can be reported and how to view progress.

Rotaract and Interact clubs cannot be nominated by email, mail, or phone. Nominate Rotaract and Interact clubs for the citation by 15 August.

This year’s district governors will receive certificates by email in September to distribute to Rotary clubs that have earned the citation.

If you have questions about the citation or any of these resources, write us at rotarysupportcenter@rotary.org. Good luck achieving this year’s goals!

Sincerely,
Brian King
