Rotary District 5650 Youth Exchange interviewed and accepted four Nebraska students for the youth exchange program for the next school year.
The students are Joe Stanley from Omaha (hoping to go to Italy), Addison Petersen from Pawnee City (hoping to go to Germany), Allie Holmes from York (hoping to go to Japan), and Josh Hartley from York (hoping to go to Bolivia).
Our current outbound students are doing well (Yama Njiee from Omaha in Akita, Japan and Savannah Gallagher from Orchard in Santa Cruz, Bolivia).
Rotarians Curt Peters (Omaha Suburban), Steve Gerdes (Omaha Downtown), Regina Werum (Lincoln #14), and I will be driving our four inbound students (Emma from Spain, Sasha from Ukraine, Seira from Japan, and Nonoka from Japan) to the winter Rotary Youth Exchange meeting in Tulsa Oklahoma where they will meet more than 100 other Rotary Youth Exchange students from all over the world who are spending this year in the United States.
As we finalize exchanges for our four outgoing students next year, we will be looking for host clubs for those students we will bring to the US in exchange for them in the coming months.
If your club would like to host an incoming student, please contact Bob Rauner, committee chair, at drbobrauner622@gmail.com.
