The last weekend in January, district 5650 and 5630 brought our nine inbound exchange students to the South Central Rotary Youth Exchange meeting in Tulsa, Oklahoma where they met with over 120 other exchange students. Thanks to the Tulsa Rotarians for hosting all the students for the weekend!
Rotarians from the central region attended the educational conference. This year’s students for 5630 and 5650 represent Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Romania, Spain, and Ukraine.
This year district 5650 has selected 3 students from Omaha, Lincoln, and Orchard, Nebraska who will be going on exchange next year. We plan on bringing in 3 students in exchange for those we are sending, plus one or two Ukrainian students. Rotary Ukraine has asked us again this year to accept one or two students, so if your club would like to host a student or help sponsor these students financially, please contact Bob Rauner, District Youth Exchange Chair, at drbobrauner622@gmail.com or 402-450-1859.
