Now is the time to set - or maybe adjust - your club goals for the 2021-22 Rotary Year. Though this message focuses on The Rotary Foundation Giving, you can set and track goals for all areas of your club's activities. Click here for the quick guide to Setting Goals in Rotary Club Central.

Here is the email that was sent to Club Presidents by Rotary District 5650 Foundation Chair Bill Harvey:

Greetings Club Presidents, Club Foundation Chairs, Club Execs, and District Leaders:

Congratulations to all of our Clubs and Rotarians in District 5650 for a great fundraising year for the Rotary Foundation within our District. When the donations are all counted sometime later this month, we will have raised a combined total of about $300,000 for Foundation activities within our District during the Rotary year just completed. For the Annual Fund alone, our giving this year reached $115 per capita for every Rotarian in the District.

That is a tremendous achievement. And because there is no end to the list of great Rotary projects that can be funded with these donations, I'd like to see us do even more in this Rotary Year just started (2021-2022) as we Serve to Change Lives. One great way to get started on doing more is to make sure we have appropriate Foundation Goals set in Rotary Club Central.

Club Presidents: PLEASE DO THE FOLLOWING

1. Please go to Rotary Club Central at Rotary.org and check your Foundation Giving goals for this current Rotary year (2021-2022). It is a great time to revisit these goals and make sure they reflect what you would like to get done this Rotary year in regard to Foundation giving. If you have never set goals on Rotary Club Central, instructions are attached to this email.

2. Please make sure that your Club has set appropriate goals for Annual Fund giving and Polio Plus giving for this Rotary Year. In setting appropriate goals, please consider:

a.What did your Club members give last year? To set accurate goals for this year, it may be more helpful to look at past years' actual giving rather than past years' goals.

b. Is it possible to increase last year's giving? Our overall District goal is to increase Annual Fund giving by 5% and Polio giving by 10%. If your Club can do more, all the better.

c. Is your Club's goal at least $100 per member for Annual Fund and $50 per member for Polio? These are great baselines to consider when setting goals.

d. The District relies on accurate goal setting by your Club in order to do our own planning and monitoring during the Rotary year. Without your Club's goals, our District picture is incomplete.

That's it! If your Club has already set appropriate goals for Foundation giving in Rotary Club Central, Thank You.

If your Club has not yet had an opportunity to set appropriate goals in Rotary Club Central, please do so as soon as possible. Your goals affect not only your Club but also our District, and all of Rotary International, as we plan for this current year and future Rotary years.

Thank you for your assistance with goal setting, and thanks for everything you do for The Rotary Foundation.
