To: Rotary District 5650 Members and Friends

The powerful earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on February 6th is one of the deadliest natural disasters of our lifetimes. It is estimated that more than a million people in Turkey alone have been left homeless. While the horrendous death toll is tragic and can’t be undone, we can help survivors in desperate need of shelter who are now trying to simply survive in the extreme cold.

The overwhelming generosity of members of Rotary District 5650 was evident when considering the contributions made to aid victims of the crisis in Ukraine as well as the Pakistan flood.

Now the survivors left homeless in Turkey and Syria need our help. Please join other members of Rotary District 5650 in assisting relief efforts for the humanitarian crisis that has unfolded in Turkey and Syria by providing funds for emergency assistance.

Rotary International has launched a disaster response initiative and is working with ShelterBox and Habitat for Humanity International to provide essential services to earthquake victims, as they have for victims of the war in Ukraine and flood victims in Pakistan.

Donations may be made to The Rotary Foundation’s Disaster Response Fund “Featured Causes” by clicking on the "Turkey/Syria Disaster Response Fund” and entering the information required to donate.

Continued support of ongoing humanitarian relief efforts to war and flood victims may also be made by clicking the “Ukraine Response Fund,” and/or the “Pakistan Flood Response Fund,” respectively. Contributions to the “Featured Causes” are eligible for Paul Harris Fellow Recognition.

Thank you for your support.
