When Rotarians ask me about being District Governor, my answer is always the same... I had so much fun!! I was apprehensive at first because I didn't really know much about being a District Governor, then I learned more about the journey, and I was sooooo excited!!
Like you, I knew the District Governor visited all the Clubs and hosted the District Conference, but it is so much more than that. If elected, you will first be invited to attend Zone 29\25B Institute Training where you will meet all the District Governors in your class from all over our paired Zones. Like you, they are at the beginning of their journey attending training for District Governor Nominees. This is also where you will meet the Rotary International President Nominee who will be with you for your entire journey.
Our 2027-28 District Governor will be invited to attend the Zone Institute in the fall of 2025, 2026, 2027. Then, you will be invited to attend International Assembly in Florida during January/February 2027. This training is exclusive to District Governor-Elects and it is where you will receive training alongside all the District Governors in your class from all around the world! In addition to facilitated discussions, you will be able to network with the Board of Directors of Rotary International and the Trustees from The Rotary Foundation.
As a capstone to your training, you will be invited to represent District 5650 at the Rotary International Convention in Honolulu, Hawaii Jun 5-9, 2027.
All of this training is designed to make you a better leader and a better Rotarian so you can help guide us on our journey as THE BEST ROTARY DISTRICT IN THE UNIVERSE!!
