Rotary District 5650 is honored to present The Rotary Foundation Citation for Meritorious Service to Bill Harvey of Omaha Downtown Rotary. This Citation for Meritorious Service recognizes individual Rotarians who have demonstrated outstanding service to the Foundation, such as through their involvement in Foundation committees, grants or programs, or by supporting Rotary Peace Fellows.
The Foundation’s programs are how members transform donations into sustainable projects that change people’s lives. Each year, districts can nominate one member to honor their commitment, enthusiasm, and passion for these ideals
Bill was nominated for the Citation for meritorious service because of his outstanding service throughout his 26 years in Rotary serving in club, District and Regional positions. During his time as the District Rotary Foundation Chair,Bill steadily grew Foundation contributions. He was also successful in growing contributions during the COVID pandemic and several disasters. His passion for Rotary and the Rotary Foundation is exemplary. He is truly deserving of The Rotary Foundation's second highest personal recognition
Bill Harvey is an attorney and is a Member and General Counsel of EHPV Management Group, a business management company located in Omaha,Nebraska. In 1997 Bill joined the Rotary Club of Omaha (Downtown) where he has served as a member of the Club Board, Club Secretary, Club Foundation Chair and Club President. Bill is also an active Rotarian within District 5650, having served most recently as District Rotary Foundation Chair from 2019 to 2022.
Bill and his wife Gretchen, also a Rotarian, are proud supporters of our Rotary Foundation, as Level III Major Donors, Level II Bequest Society members, and they are both Paul Harris Fellows plus 8, as well as members of the Paul Harris Society and the Polio Plus Society. Earlier this year, they established the Gretchen and Bill Harvey Endowed Fund to provide continuing support for the Rotary Foundation and District 5650 for years to come.
When he’s not working, or doing Rotary, Bill dabbles in genealogy. So if you are wondering who’s your daddy maybe Bill can help. He is the immediate Past President and a current Board member of the Fellowship of Rotarian Genealogists, an international fellowship of Rotarians with an interest in genealogy and family history.
Bill currently serves as the Endowment/Major Gift Advisor for Rotary Region 36 which covers 23 Rotary Districts from Thunder Bay, Ontario to Brownsville, Texas. Int hat role he works with Major Donors and District leaders throughout our Region to continue to grow Our Rotary Foundation.
