The Rotary District 5650 and 5630 youth exchange committees have been collaborating on youth exchange for more than 10 years as we exchange Nebraska students to countries around the world and host students in return.
We had our orientation with the students in Lincoln at Lincoln Rotarian Regina Werum’s home where the students were able to meet each other and learn about our state.

We had the help of two of our former exchange students at the orientation – Allie Colburn from York who was in Wakayama, Japan last year and Natalie Rauner from Lincoln who was in Madrid, Spain 2017/2018.

Pictured in front of Morrill Hall are Bob and Natalie Rauner, Emma Lorca Huber from Spain (Lincoln High), Nonoka Kamada from Japan (Omaha Westside), Seira Akatsuka from Japan (York High School), Sasha Fuke from Ukraine (Lincoln High), and Allie Colburn.

Our two outbound students are also doing well, Yama Njie from Omaha who is in Akita, Japan and Savannah Gallagher from Orchard who is in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

We already have several interested students for next year. If you have any questions or if your club is interested in sponsoring a student, please contact me.
