Stories of Interest to Rotarians
A One Rotary Summit (ORS) is all about the synergy among Membership, Public Image, and Humanitarian Service (The Rotary Foundation). All Rotarians are invited to participate on April 27, 2019 (click here).

Clubs have done amazing projects throughout District 5650 with District Grants that match Club Funds. Are you thinking about a project for the 2019-20 Rotary Year? It starts by qualifying your club and members. Grants Management Seminars are required and the first one is coming up April 11.
The Rotary Citation awarded by Rotary International helps ensure that clubs are strong in several core areas.  It should be very achievable for most clubs in our district.
The Club Profile program of Rotary District 5650 is used to determine the progress of the clubs in the district in various activities and programs of Rotary. It is the basis for the Top 10 Clubs awards. Standings are posted monthly.
Although most of the public knows our name, our latest research tells us that too many prospective members or supporters do not fully understand Rotary. They don’t know what we stand for and what we do in local communities. And nearly 60 percent of those surveyed said they were unaware that a Rotary club exists in their own community.

Many clubs and district committee chairs have used National Awards4U and Russell Hampton for various supplies. As announced by email and on websites, National Awards 4U has been purchased by Russell Hampton.

Rotary International (RI) has instituted this communication policy:  in most cases “whenever RI sends something to one officer, it will go to all officers”.

The Officers "as identified by Rotary International" include: President, Secretary, Treasurer, Foundation Chair, Membership Chair, and Club Executive Secretary/Director (if applicable).  The members holding these positions must be identified (and authorized) by someone that is currently an officer.  It is suggested that the President or Secretary review the information at Rotary.org regularly to ensure the the members are identified for those positions.
