Rotary Youth Leadership Award Camp (RYLA) April 6-8
The 7th annual District 5650 Rotary Youth Leadership Award Camp (RYLA) will be held April 6-8, 2018 at Camp Kitaki near Louisville.  The camp teaches high school sophomores and juniors the importance of leadership and involvement in their community and world.

Sign Up Now for President-elect Training Seminar
President-elect Training Seminar (PETS) is the chance for Presidents-elect of all Clubs in our District to get together and share ideas and concerns to help prepare them for a successful Rotary year. There is no registration fee for 2018-19 Club Presidents in District 5650; their attendance at this event is covered by the District Dues that were paid last fall. NAYEN is an International Organization that our district has been involved in by virtue of being in SCRYE.  NAYEN is a consortium of countries involved in Rotary Youth Exchanges from North America.

District Training Assembly is where club officers, committee chairs and emerging leaders can learn more about what Rotary has to offer. We do this by offering different training tracks -- so you can pick and choose which topics you want to learn more about. Stick with one track or get a taste of more than one.

Membership Update for the District
We (district 5650) are in Zone 28 which is comprised of 15 districts. It is the case that the composition of our zone is changing in 2 years.  See: Zone 28-29 to view a map of the changes. Our zone (15 districts) contains 676 clubs at present comprised of 28235 members as of January 2018.

Tree Planting
Our district has undertaken the noble goal of planting a tree for every Rotarian member.  This means we will be planting approximately 2000 trees before the end of the year.

Human Trafficking Initiative
Our district is in the process of developing a strategic plan to address human trafficking in our District.  This is in response to a growing awareness of how serious this problem is in Nebraska and around the world.  A few of us met recently to discuss developing a strategic plan to combat this scourge.  Sharon Wherry is leading a committee to focus our energy as a district and see how best we can assist.

Women's Empowerment
This year, in keeping with the wishes of Rotary International President Ian Riseley, we are focusing on empowering women in our district.  To that end we are undertaking a visioning and strategic planning process that will guide us for the next 3 years or longer.

Members can view their individual The Rotary Foundation giving detail and history reports at any time by logging on to the Rotary International Website - Rotary.org / My Rotary. Click here for instructions.
 
This particular report is not available to Club or District executives. Executives can see the total giving for a member including their Paul Harris Status, but cannot view the details of the individual transactions.
Are You Holding a Club Event?
Clubs in Rotary District 5650 are asked to share information about events if those events are open to everyone (such as fundraisers) or will impact district leadership (such as District Governor). Event information can be posted to the District Calendar and the District Website.
