Governor Mick's October Message

Willie Nelson’s song “On the road again” has taken on a new meaning for me since July 1 2019. I have now visited all but two clubs in the District. “Phew”.

Special District 5650 Business Online Meeting 10-17-19

District 5650 will conduct a special business meeting on Thursday October 17, 2019 at 6:30 PM via a "GotoWebinar" meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to elect 3 at large directors from the clubs to the District 5650 Board of Directors and to approve the 2018-2019 Financial statements for the District.

2018-19 Rotary Citations Awarded

Another exciting time for our District! In mid-September, I received an email from Rotary International announcing which clubs achieved the Rotary Citation for the 2018-19 Rotary Year.

The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International has received 12 consecutive 4-star ratings from Charity Navigator for demonstrating both strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency. Rotary District 5650 Recognized for Diversification

Rotary District 5650 Governor 2018-19 Julie O'Hara received at Rotary Zone Institute in Kansas City for the highest increase in gender and diversity of membership during the Rotary Year. Congratulations to Rotary District 5650!

Taking Nominations for Rotary District Governor 2022-23

We are wrapping up the first quarter of Mick McKinley’s year as District Governor. We are so fortunate to have his leadership this year!

In May of this year, Hayley Dunlop graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor's Degree in the Biological Sciences and a minor in Global Health. Having completed an honor's thesis and graduating from ASU with a 4.0 GPA, Hayley is off to another prestigious university, the University of Edinburgh.

District 5650 Continues Support for Polio Eradication

Again in 2019-20, our District 5650 continues its support of Polio Eradication by contributing 20% of available District Designated Funds (DDF) from the Rotary Foundation toward Polio Plus.

Local Communities Benefit from The Rotary Foundation Funds

Funds donated to The Rotary Foundation are used to support the needs of individuals - far away and right here at home!
