Don’t you wish people knew more about Rotary than some folks who meet for a meal once a week?

Rotary International recognizes clubs with The Rotary Citation as well as other accomplishments. The following 2022-23 recognition items were received by Rotary International and presented during the District Conference on October 14.

At the Zone Institute, our District received not only a citation for the Rotary Challenge – but we were tied for End Polio Now District of the Year for Zone 29. To get the citation, we had to complete a submission documenting at least 1 activity in each of six categories. (We did at least 3 in each category last year!) To receive a higher distinction, a panel of judges reviewed the submissions and voted on the best in the category. 

You asked and we responded!  Over the last year, I heard from a lot of you that you enjoyed the friendly rivalry with other Clubs throughout the District.  So, during my visits, I announced that we are going to recognize the Top Ten Clubs in each of three categories: Membership Growth; Foundation Giving; End Polio Now.

Rotary International has requested that the Club President and all other Club Officers and Executives for each Rotary Year get established by 12-31. Many clubs start the Nomination and Election Process late in September or early in October.

 

Also, training for the 2024-25 Club Leadership starts in February/March so it is important to have the positions filled before then.

District Grant Project Progress Reports for all 2023-24 District Grant Projects are due by 12-31. The purpose of that report is to check progress, find out if your project is "on track" and discuss any issues you have encountered that may be blocking progress.

Our next membership billing from Rotary.org will be in January, 2024. Using RI Integration, clubs in Rotary District 5650 manage member information locally (not at Rotary.org) and changes will "roll up" to Rotary International.
